After spending time on this site, I find that it can really suck you in. There are multitudes of pathways that lead to projects, interviews, art in general, explorations, a true ton of information. Influenced by the Index page, my first question was, well, "What is TECHNE???" By my nature, my initial question was less about what the program TECHNE actually is, but where the word came from. I found my answer, "The name TECHNE comes from the Greek use of the term techne to mean both art and technology, especially as it relates to practice and application ('to make or do')." So that's that. The site itself has an artistic feel, requires hunting, a complex set up, engaging to navigate. I'm spending time now looking through interviews, projects...more to come...
